Sand County Environmental offers alternative remediation at Ag-chem sites beyond excavation. Due to utilities and or proximity to rail, road beds, or other structures, impacted soils may not be accessible. In such cases, limited excavation and capping may be an option. Surface soils are excavated, a low-permeability cap consisting of geomembrane and bentonite is emplaced with a drainage system on the cap. The area is backfilled and still available for equipment storage and parking.
